Title: '73-'94 8ft Bed the same size?

I'm looking to find a utility truck cap for my '73 Sierra Grande w/ 8ft bed.

I'm trying to figure out what will fit.  I know the bed is the same from '73-'87, but a buddy of mine says that any cap made for a '73-'94 will fit.

Hoping someone can clear this up for me.

I am not saying that it will fit, because I am not sure, but the  88-99 pickups shared the same wheelbase as the 73-87's.  Mounting of the bed was not the same though.

The frame is about 3-5" wider on the 88- up trucks.
