Hey all...
Starting to gut the interior. Looking at the floor pan it seems in good shape. Some surface rust and some near the back of the floor pane where it connects to the back.
Was going to use some Lexel (Noticed someone on the board here had used it) to caulk along the seams with the floor pan connecting to the back.
However for the floor pan, what is the best way to stop that rust? I was thinking clean it . Sand it all some and apply Lizard Skin to it before new carpet later on. Seems like the Lizard skin will protect far better and longer than just a paint.
Am I on the right track?

you need to convert the rust or paint over it. Chassis Saver or POR15 you can get the loose scale off and paint over it. Don't apply anything over it without doing something to it first.

As I get deeper behind the dash I am finding more reasons to continue to pull most of what's back there. Even found my missing seat bolt in the bottom AC vent outlet. This truck was beyond dusty and it shows it side. Will post some photos later, thanks again!

I 2nd Chassis Saver. I used it on the floor of my 77 and it turned out great other than i got some nasty runs painting with a brush. the first coat went fine but putting the 2nd coat of black over the 1st coat of black was hard to avoid runs i didnt realize till it was too late. make sure you get plenty of light in the cab so you dont make my mistake
