Title: Delco Radio in 1986 Silverado
Post by: David A Young on December 04, 2016, 08:55:32 pm
Hey guys I have POS Sony radio with cassette and I have a Delco factory radio to put back in. Thank God that they didn't cut the hole out more in the dash to make it fit but they did hack up the factory radio harness to make this radio work (which I hate they make adapter plugs for a reason). I'm having trouble determining which wires I need to splice into the pigtails that I acquired from my parts trucks and which wires from the hackjob harness I need to cut out. I referred to the factory wiring diagrams posted on here and it gave me the correct colors for the small pigtail but not the big one.

The small one has a yellow, black and gray.
The big one has a green,2 browns w/white stripe, and 1 solid brown

Ill try to post a pic if I can. the last few pictures ive posted on here it says the file is too large but ill try to to help with any confusion on what I posted. thanks.

Which wiring are we talking about?  The truck or the radio?

The truck. I got it all fixed finally. I do have one gray wire that's a loner though. The gray one on the black plug is hooked up and has its mate but I don't know where the gray one is supposed to go on the blue plug. I haven't found any undone wires under the dash to hook it to.
