Title: 86/87 K10 Plug wire set
Post by: justinwilkie4 on December 28, 2016, 09:04:49 am
Hey Guys, Im relatively new to the forum. I have an 86/87 K10. Im finding that the body parts im replacing are from 86 models, and motor parts are from 87 models. Anyhow, I bought the MSD Streetfire plug wire set and it was pretty good, however Im having an issue with the Wire that goes from the Dist. to the coil. The Wire set came with an extra wire that could be cut and crimped to length, however the connector isnt snug or secure on the coil itself. Ive looked every for just an coil wire and cant find just that wire for sale. Is this an issue that has been discussed on here before? I used the search and didnt find anything specific. Background on the truck is my Dad bought it new in December of 86, sold it to my Grandpa in 91, and I just bought it from him a few months ago.

You either have an 86 K10 or an 87 V10 What's the 10th digit of the VIN?

Is it the coil wire steel terminal end or the boot that is loose?  Does the coil tower terminal appear eroded?
