i also am open to sugestions for how much i should chop it thanks

You are going to need another roof, and two more doors for sectioning. I don't know about the gaskets as I have never choped a top myself but have read extensivly on it for older rigs. The gaskets in my opinion would be the easy parts compared to the metal work.

Well so far that is becomeing the hard parts to find for my self. the meteal and body for im not afriade of im only 18 and i enjoy doing that. i am curently enrolled in WyoTech and just bout finished up the collision program then i will be in refinishing so im taking in all i can while im here. but thanks for metioning the extra doors needed. just one question? would i need to stick with the 73-80 doors or being that im just taking parts can I interchange the two?
thanks

Wyo Tech is an excelent metal fabrication school. I have been doing body work for close to 20 years and I know a guy that graduated 2 years ago from Wyo Tech and he is a much better matal shaper than I am. The top of the doors is the same for all these trucks.

As for the gaskets, you are probably going to have to section them and glue them back together. The window felt (run channel) won't be a big deal. The vent window will... Chris Lucas
