Post by: Tommyd11730 on February 10, 2017, 04:57:04 pm
Anyone ever take their pulse module appart to attempt repair?  Mine failed on my 84 and i have it bypassed so at least I have all functions but pule.
Also does anyone repop the pulse module?
Thanks!

What is repop?

Chances are the electrolytic capacitors on the board have dried out.  Believe it or not, they actually contain moist electrolyte that is subject to leaking and drying.  If you replace all of the electrolytic caps with same value parts (voltage and capacitance), it is a good bet you will restore function to the module.  Just be careful - electrolytics are polarized.

What is repop?

It's when you sift your popcorn and recollect the kernels that didn't pop. Reheat and repeat.  8)

I have an 82 with pulse wipers. Never have got them to work properly even after replacing the module but, haven't put any time into diagnosing the problem either. Still works on low and high speed. In the pulse position it works on low speed.
