Title: Is this block rebuildable?
Post by: kcirwilliams on February 11, 2017, 01:12:21 pm
I just tore down the 350 in my 73.  The bottom of the #7 cylinder looks a little suspect.  There wasn't anything unusual in the pan.  Is it still ok for a rebuild?

Looks like merely an unusual casting, not damage; nothing to fret about.  I would run it.

Looks good to go to me. Probably from where they drilled the hole for the distributor. As long as it is not putting water in the oil pan all should be fine.

And BTW, that is cylinder #8.
