Question,
i want to go different but like some advice here.I know blazer seats will fit but what other style of bucket seats will fit in our trucks comfortably?I know i`ll have to do some modifications to the bottoms to make em bolt in or fit but like some input on what else to use for seats that`ll make the interior stand out and be comfortable.
thanks

Pretty much anything as long as you have a drill, drill bits, and a welder. I have a set of brand new buckets that I pulled out of a Saturn that was never driven and was going to fabricate them in but I just splurged and got a custom made seat. If you plan on doing a custom unique job the best thing to do is go around with a tape measure and see what seats you like and if they'll fit. What drove me away from doing this was losing that middle seat and nowhere for my dog to sit if I bring him with me somewhere. Finding a matching center section that flips into a seat will be tough.

Get some fancy suburban seats, like those from my 91 GMC conversion sub.
Center folds up for seat or down for console. The bottom seat cushion tilts up to reveal my secret hiding place. (I hope my wife won't read this)

When you are looking around take a bit of time to sit in the seats in the donor car to make sure you like them and are comfortable. Looks are good but if you happen to spend some time behind the wheel you want to be comfortable. My ex had a 97 Dodge Intrepid, those seats are very comfy and have a low enough back so as not to stick way up in the rear window of a truck. I picked up a parts car for it and before it went to the bone yard I took the seats out and are saving them for a truck.

would seats out of a suburban like del is showinf bolt right into a 1986 k10 or would modifications have to be made?

I`ll admit bout the comfort of the dodge intrepid seats.I got a 94 eagle vision we have had since day 1 and the seats are very comfortable.Do you think modifying the bench seat to make it more appealing or should i go for buckets?I know what everyone is gonna say(your butt is going to sit in it so its your truck, do what you want).I may try n go to local junkyards/salvage yards and see bout grand am GT seats and ford contour svt seats, or lincoln seats.

I am partial to a bench seat myself. But figure one day i will build something and want to put buckets in it. Had a 76 years ago that some one put mid 70 Camaro seats in. That thing was very uncomfortable, corse I don't care for that style seat in a Camaro but were worse in the truck.

If you are looking for buckets, you don't want Blazer Seats. You would have to fabricate the whole mount.
If you want some that will bolt in with little modification, get some out of a Suburban, they share the same basic floor pattern. You will have to bend the rear of the mounting brackets to make them fit the pickup, but that is it. Chris Lucas

Hey SgtDel, how much is it worth to you for me not to say anything to your wife about your hiding place?
-
Ohhh, actually, I don't really care if she knows about it. I don't have my bottle in their right now, at least not during the winter months.
I keep something else in there, however, ..... and she doesn't know how to use it.
