I have a 1980 GMC Sierra 2WD.
Looking to do the next big body job (3rd since we purchased it in 1985). I have a chance to purchase rust-free doors from a 1991 Suburban. I believe they should fit because Suburban body style didn't change until 1992. Is this correct?
My truck has no power options (hand crank windows).
The Suburban doors have power locks and windows.
Two questions......
1. Can my old hand crank window hardware be put in the burb doors?
OR...
2. How much work is it to get the power windows and locks to work in my old 1980?

They will fit. If you can get the power door harness with the doors it is a plug and play. You will have to use a hole saw and pop a hole in your cab. If you look real careful you will see the two dimples that the rubber wire harness screws to the cab. Center the hole saw drill between them.

Hey bud... where are you located? You need only the front 2 doors, correct? You willing to part ways with the rear doors?

its a project to putin power windows in a truck tat isnt factory equipped with them, will need a donor power window door truck to do it
not worth the trouble in my mind,
the doors are al the same from 77-91 old body style
73-76 are small door panel different shell but still would work and fit, other than wrong door panel size
but no power doors til 77,
73-76 were all manual door
good luck

Why do you think its a project? Run the wire harness into the cab from both sides, and it plugs into the fuse box. The power windows have their own wire harness.

As Blazin said it is a simple process of putting the power doors on, just get the harness and associated pieces. It will bolt right back on and the harness will plug in as it is on a seperate harness.
