Title: Brake fluid leaks from top of master cylinder reservoir- New parts
Post by: k10Ryan79 on February 28, 2017, 12:25:47 pm
So here's my issue. I just replaced my Master Cylinder and booster but when I drive it, it leaks from the cap... I did see the even with the clamp on it there's still come play in the cap.. you can actually move it from side to side and forward to back.. Shouldn't there be no play at all in the cap?

Sounds like the rubber seal in the lid may be missing. Or maybe clamp not in correct position to clamp snug to prevent leaking.

try your old cap and see what it does. there should be NO moment when the clamp is in place. and i know ive had an issue years ago with the gasket. but with a new master you shouldnt have that issue. if your old cap fixes the issue i would go back to the parts store. they should be willing to work with you (cause of a defective part) and give you a new gasket or something
