Title: A/c condensor
Post by: dieselman123 on March 16, 2017, 02:38:28 pm
I have a 1983 c10 silverado base truck with factory a/c. Im in tbe process of restoring a/c system and purchased new condensor. My problem is tbat the new condensor is smaller in length than the old fin and tube r12 condensor. Has anyone ran into that problem if so what did you do the fix this issue thanks

It seems like you got the wrong part to me. A replacement condenser should be the same dimensions of the one that came in it. The type of freon has nothing to do with it.

My old condensor is 28 1/2 inches long and the new one is 25 1/4. What about just flushing out my old condensor and just reusing it i dnt think its stopped up or anything like that

I don't see any problems with that.

Will try that out and see how it works. I just heard that a parallel  flow condensor would be better. I did the elctric fan conversion so i should hav good airflow across it

Electric fan setup is what I need on mine for the hot summers here.
