As every owner of a square body Chevy or GMC pickup knows, the spare tire hangs down about a foot too much-just exaggerating. But it does hang down too much.
I wanted to know if anyone has raised it closer to the bed. Or if there is a spare relocator of some sort. Soon I will have the factory rear bumper instead of the step and that tire will be very obvious. I'd appreciate any replys. Thanks.

I've set my trucks (81 c10 & 74 c20) up with a front reciever hitch and use a tire carrier from Hidden Hitch to carry the spare up front. Also works great for pushing trailers into tight spots.

Putting the spare up front will surely not make it hidden. I believe he wants the spare under the truck and out of site. I myself do not see the big deal if you can see part of the spare under the real bumper. But that is just me. You could get a bed cover and just leave the spare in the bed.

How about a thinner design spare tire like a donut? Or wait for technology and get a Tweel? A nice airless spare
They should be in production and not too expensive someday soon...
