Shopping for a new Dash Pad for a 1974 Chevy c10 stepside. I have decided to go with a full replacement rather than a cover. Prices seem to range from about 200 for a polyurethane replacement to about 340 for a steel covered with fabric more like original replacement. Looking for best bang for the buck. Anybody know of something extra great or to steer away from? Also I would like to match the color to the rest of the truck. The truck is mostly gray interior but the dash pad is black. Is there any particular reason I should stay with the black?

The site store sells the dash pad you want: 1973-78 CHEVY / GMC OE STYLE VINYL DASH PAD (http://store.73-87chevytrucks.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=7&Product_Code=D100173-013&Category_Code=DC). Prepare and dye the pad to the color of your choice using a high quality dye. Preparation is the key to a satisfying outcome. Avoid the polyurethane replacements.

Avoid the cover and go with a full new pad, you'll be very pleased. Keep it factory black, i guess in your case, and obviously you can avoid dying. Not immortality. Lol
