Title: Tailgate Post Replacement
Post by: 86K5Silverado on March 28, 2017, 11:16:40 pm
Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience in replacing the tailgate posts on thier square. I'm looking to be doing this on my K5 but I'm pretty sure that the procedure would be the same for pickups as well. I think that the quarter panels (or bedsides in the case of a pickup) wrap around from the tail lights and are spot welded to the posts but I could be wrong. This is where I could used clarification. Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks,
CJ

Are you asking about doing this to a K5 or to a pickup? Yes they are welded at the bottom. You need to cut through the weld in order to replace them.
