So if you're standing in front of the truck looking at the motor....is there a trick to get the plug all the way in the back on the passenger side? I have a 1986 C30 with the 454.....Thank you

That's cylinder #8 - even numbered bank being the passenger (right) side, odd numbered bank being the driver (left) side. With factory cast manifolds, generally a 3/8" drive, flex-head ratchet, a 5/8" spark plug socket and ~3" extension will do the trick. With headers you may need to be creative with some plugs accessible from underneath; some from on top; some with a special compact socket, etc.
