Title: Rear Shock Install

Hey guys/gals....put in my front shocks, minimal issues, but got them installed.  Now time for the rear - any issues I can expect?  Do I need to jack up the rear and all that or can i just unscrew and hope they shimmy out of the sockets?  Tips, Trickets and help welcome :)

You should be able to remove them without having to jack or lift anything. Replace the mounting studs on the frame side along with the shocks, always tighten to factory torque. If you find any cracks in the frame, repair as needed. Whether you have cracks or not and regardless of whether it's 2wd or 4wd, I recommend installing rear shock mount frame brace brackets. I used the kit from ORD, high quality and worth the effort and not terribly expensive. Cheap and easy insurance against future frame damage.

This is said brackets installed on my truck, came with quality Grade 8 hardware.

Your welcome. For the most part, shocks are pretty straight forward and easy.

Don't mean to butt in. Does anyone make reinforcement brackets for the front too. Thought I had seen some for the front on another post here. Been thinking about getting them for both ends

These are available as well. A few places sell them as a kit and are pretty cheap. They were factory on 4x4 trucks but not on 2x4 trucks. I installed these on my truck as well. Summit Racing sells them.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170421/5b55ab560ae9fc866490685cfe5384ee.jpg)
