Title: 83 K10 Rear sliding window
Post by: kj4ltc on April 18, 2017, 10:08:04 pm
I'm working on fixing up a 1983 K10 pickup, one sliding panel is broken out...what are options for replacement?  Is it possible to replace a single section or will the whole window have to be replaced.  Suppliers? Thanks in advance!

Whole window will need replaced if your depending on using a supplier. I've worked in a piece of plexi more then once. Not pretty, but keeps the weather out.

If you can get another sliding window that has a good sliding section, they can be disassembled and then re-assembled with all the good parts in the window you want to use.  There aren't any fasteners holding the vertical bars in place - just friction.  Carefully tap with a rubber mallet and a piece of wood or plastic.  I scored a complete, but weathered RSW from a scrap yard and re-finished it, complete with brush-on clear coat.  Looks like new after a year.
