Title: If you had $3000.......
Post by: 85c10 on February 24, 2005, 01:12:00 pm
If you had $3000 dollars what would you spend it on?
I would spend it on my body....:rollin , my truck body, fix the rust, dings and scratches, then i would pull the bed, cab, and doghouse off, take everything else off the frame, have it sand blasted, then painted. I would then spray the under-body with rhino lining. then the engine is next, followed by the interior, and any other minor details.

Shane age: 17
1985 Chevy c10 1/2 ton
305Ci, auto. all the options avail.

Here's "the list":
rebuild engine
new fenders
new bed
cowl induction hood
billet grill
H4 headlight conversion
chrome bumper w/foglights
Cavalier bucket seats
hardtop bed cover
custom two-tone corvette blue over silver paint
rear disc brake conversion
all new lamp lenses w/ chrome trim
tint windows
Eagle Alloys 211 17x8 wheels
killer sound system....

I'm sure I left some minor things out, but that would put me right at $2995, plus tax, tags, and other fees!:)

well first i would pay my truck off.then i would buy a new replacement grille, right side headlight bezel, and the trim that goes around the grille and a new bumper all because of the little wreck i had. if i had any left over i would try to find a project truck(2wd swb 73-87 1/2 ton pick-up).hopefully 3000 would cover all that.;)

I'd get a new motor, or have mine rebuilt (and built up some).  I'd also want to get a Dana 60 front end and a 14-bolt rear.

Sell my truck, add in the money with the 3 grand, buy a new truck... new BBQ... and sit outside eating... staring at my new truck... wondering how I'll get more extra money saved up to tinker with it.

I would go to the bank and get it all in ones and head to the nudie bar!! No just kidding I don`t think the wife would approve, but how cool would that be???:D
I actually had 3200.00 in the bank for my 74 2wd blazer project. But we just bought a new house and the wife wanted  a new pool table and I wanted a freshly painted and assembled blazer... Any guesses as to what we have..Thats right a fricken $3100.00 pool table on order! So once again the blazer is simmering on the back burner.>:
I must admit though, that it is a pretty sweet pool table.   Gotta keep the wife happy cause lord knows if she`s not, life isn`t fun.

Pool tables are a good thing. When the wife is out of town you can hire your own girls and have your own nudie bar!!!! How cool would that be? Charge your buddies admission and fill up the Blazer fund again!

well since I already got the new engine, tranny, new axles,
(over span of 4 years) all that is left is now is a  new front grill, finish my interior, and get a set of seats out of a tahoe,
and finally paint the beast. then if I have anything left, roll that money into my other project, a 68 chevy sb pickup with a 400 h.p 327 smallblock.... been gathering parts for the last 3 years on that, scored an actual rust free truck for 300. so it might be able to finish off the blazer and kickstart my other one.

someday...
if I ever get the honey do list caught up.

i would use it on my mustang...serious. i love my chevy truck so far, but my true love is my 99 mustang GT. 3000 would cover the entire suspension setup i want, and a lot of the cosmetic stuff i want (new hood, wheels, etc). i installed a blower on it over the winter, it puts 348 HP to the ground through an automatic, drives like stock when i want it to, and runs a 12.4 1/4 mile...11's are coming this summer, but would come sooner and easier with 3000 lol.

For sure it would go into my truck. That is till my wife knew I had the three grand. She would want to put some of the money into something to do with the house.  I guess I would spit it with her. So, $1,500.00 would go into the 86'. We have been married for over 40 years. After all those years, it is not easy to keep something from her. She knows all my tricks. Well, most of them anyway.
