Title: Undoing a Gilmer Belt Drive
Post by: septantrionalis on April 30, 2017, 10:49:03 pm
The previous owner installed a gilmer belt system in my 1974 Chevy K10 w/ 350 engine for whatever reason.

Does anyone see any benefit of keeping the Gilmer pulleys?  If not, I'd like to just replace them with the pulley system that the truck originally came with.  Does anyone know of a good place to purchase the entire pulley kit from?  I'd like to just replace all 4 pulleys, including the power steering pulley.  Also, how do I know what size belts I need after installing the new pulleys?  I assume I'd need two belts?

I think your Gilmer pulleys are missing some 6-71 action.  I say huff it!  I mean, you already ~have~ the pulleys.
