Title: 1974 Chevy K30 - ?
Post by: psyguy23 on May 08, 2017, 12:06:33 am
Found a crew cab, short bed, 4x4 being advertised as a 1974 Chevy K30.

From what I am finding there was not a K30/C30 offered by GM/Chevy that was crew cab, 4x4, K30 in a short bed.

What is this person think they are selling? Or am I wrong.

Crew cabs were never offered with a short bed. Also that bed is to short to even be a standard size short bed. The truck has had the bed and the frame cut and shortened. So it might be a K30, but it's definitely not a factory crew cab short bed.

Thank you for that confirmation. That is what I gather as well. My excitement for finding a K30 - it was too exciting to pass up.

First year for the K30 was 1977.

That my friends is what a crew cab looks like on a suburban chassis with a bed shortened to fit the frame, you see them from time to time up here in Canada usually when a blazer body rotted off the frame and was replaced with a regular cab but suburban to crew cab works pretty much the same

Thats a suburban chassis. Ive seen it a lot. That may or may not be the suburban front clip, but I doubt it seeing that the bed is a separate piece. It looks like they got a crew cab body and chopped the bed short (really short) to fit it on the burban frame
