Title: bent the dipstick tube
Post by: 78chev2bnice on August 28, 2005, 01:42:00 pm
I pulled the engine out of my truck the other day and I ended up bending the dipstick tube.  It was either bend the tube or sawzall my exhaust to lift it out before I pulled the dipstick.  I have headers and brand new exhaust so I didn't want to cut it up.  How do you remove the dipstick tube out of the block?

i broke mine once. so when i removed the oil pan, i drove it back out the top with a long small screw driver.

I have used a center punch and bent the tube below the block hight in on itself and then used needle nose vise grips to pull it out.
