So I've finally got around to doing the swap for my 1980 GMC step side. Everything went fairly smooth. I knew I had to drill new holes for the brace but I didn't count on my rear drive shaft being about 3" too long. I haven't checked the front yet but I think it may be too short. Does anyone know if the 700R4/NP241C ever came in a short box option pickup? Is the step side even shorter? Looking to avoid having to get custom driveshafts made.

The 700R4/241C came in 1989 up trucks and Blazers. it is LONGER than the TH350/NP205. You will need driveshafts.
