Title: Has anyone used the empty space where the saddle tank would be?
Post by: travisr1988 on June 28, 2017, 10:24:46 am
Has anyone used up the space where the saddle tank would be if the truck has only a single tank? Like for storage or anything else? Also, what about the space between the rear frame rails under the bed?

Some trucks came with a glove box style tool box. I put my battery there on my 74 and removed the auxiliary tank since I barely drive the truck. The back is where the spare goes.

I was thinking the small space between the spare and the bed floor, there's probably about 4-6" between the bed floor and the spare. I remember see the box on the bedsides on old fords, but not Chevys.

That's pretty cool, come to think of it I've seen one on a 67-72 truck, didn't know they had them on 73-87 trucks. But, mines a stepside so that's out, hmm, maybe I can make a box that drops down and slides out...or maybe just a little drawer or box right under the seat with access from the cab.
