Title: Vortec 5.3/4l80e Engine Swap

Gentlemen

I am working on a 84 Chevy Custom Deluxe 4x4 "Lug nuts up" build project.  I have the complete rolling chassis done.  Corporate 10 and 14 bolt axles 3/4 ton frame.  I am considering the above engine trans combo.  Has anyone done this swap?  I can get the complete combination for less than what I can build a small block 350 and rebuild the TH-400 Trans.  The truck will need to be emission compliant which has me wondering.  Although the set-up will be way more efficient.

Check with Street and Performance.  They have done a couple of these.
