hi all,
had a small accident last year :'( , with a motor bike. the damage to the front didn't look to bad all panel damage.( bumper/grill/rad support/hood) but has cost a bomb with shipping. the truck has been off the road all this time. so I thought this is the time to give it a NEW look. I ordered all the parts, but when the hood arrived it was damaged. so had to send it back, so had to repair my original hood. I'm also going to respray the truck in RAPTOR BEDLINER
first pic the damage
3 pic removal
4 pic mock-up
5/6 pic making induction cowl
I will put more pics as we go
1985 stepside 350 5.7 2wd

Haha...
"Bonnet", eh? I lived in England a few years so I almost didn't catch that.
When you are talking about a Kia Rio, I think the word "bonnet" is quite fitting, but somehow it feels inadequate to describe the 100 lbs of metal that goes into a GM truck hood.
-
yeah the new HOOD was nothing like the original one in weight. was worth the fabrication to make induction cowl.
-
Propane ?

yes she is LPG runs sweet on propane. she is all sanded down ready for RAPTOR I have started the rear first
-
How does the cowl induction work without having an opening in the back of the hood for airflow and without having the engine air intake sealed off from the engine bay?
-
there are holes in the back of the cowl, but the hood looks better than before
-
did the front wings and rad support panel today
-
she is all sprayed now, time to put back together
-
ok, how much you got in paint?
and how much you got in headlights?
and do those LEDs on the back of the cab act as turn signals or brake lights?
-
you get 4 bottles of raptor 750ml (each), and one tin of hardener for 4 bottles 250ml (each) then you add 100ml of tint.
I used 16 bottles of raptor. £70.00 per kit
the head lights have DRLS fitted 4x6 cree 15 led they are very bright (plug and play) flood/spot
the leds on the cab are marker lights (3 led button) I have red to rear and amber down the side sills and bed rail. I will put pic of the markers on later
has any one fitted a 52inch led light bar to the roof of a c10 with brackets ? any pics

so about £280 into your paint? so about $364 usd. ive kind of always wanted my truck to look like a lorry at night. those buttons might be the key but still not sure how il would feel with 20 or so going down the sides lol
-
plus the paint tint was £90 for two litres. and the markers look cool on a night, you can get them in GREEN/RED/AMBER/BLUE AND WHITE. there about £5 each
-
outside nearly finished, all underside waxoyled. just need new door handles and mirrors. started the interior sound deadening first, doors and floor. then new carpet and seat cover with new base foam. more expense
-
thought I would polish my alloy wheels, with MOTHERS mag & aluminum polish. i used a foam polish ball, and took me all day to do all 4 wheels. :o they turned out good, but if I had spent more time on each wheel they would look like chrome.
-
just fitted new door handles and wing mirrors, outside is about complete. when I bought the stainless steel grill they don't do a grill emblem. so I have made my own, out of some polished stainless. turned out sweet.
-
I ordered my carpet two months ago and it arrived but was the wrong colour BLUE :(, I ordered BLACK. so still waiting.
so I have finished all the sound deadening and some rewiring , and have fitted heated seats £40 when I get the bench seat cover. the switch just fits in the tank change over switch location (tank switch not in use) has 5 heat settings. I made some door panel bottoms, same as new headliner material. I stitched the chevy emblem and the c10 logo on it first.

Nice
Probably turns a lot of heads over there
I've seen a couple that were RHD
-
there are a lot of c10 straight bodies over her but not this gen of stepside. and like you say a few RHD. I'm the only one in York with one :). be glade when I get it back on the road been a long time, and a lot of man hours. got my K&N filter today £68 and some new silicone red radiator hoses £74 in meter lengths only. (yet to fit)
-
there was no air con when I got the truck, some parts had been removed. (compressor/pipe work) so I have totally deleted the air con,(not needed over here) and this is the last bracket that needs to go. as its in the way. so I made my own bracket support so it still supports the power steering pump. and cut the rest off. looks a lot better. also made bulkhead box so I still have heat and fan/blower still works.
-
still no carpet >:( so finished the red silicone radiator hoses, had to leave the bottom hose as original due to the shape (is new anyway) gives it a new fresh look.
-
Looking great. Nice progress. Keep up the good work
-
thanks,
got some new front park lamps. had to cut off the top two fixing tabs to fit my grill.
dismantled my bench seat, after removing the old cover and foam the some of the rear frame support bars have been cut out ? so I have welded some more bars back in and painted the frame. I have 4 Brocken springs on the base frame, the foam also needs repairing on the drivers back and drivers seat.
-
foam back repair first pic shows its already been repaired. so I have cut out the old and fitted some new high density foam. and then shaped it to the seat. and then covered it with polyester wadding on the frame. the base foam needs to be done the same
-
finally got the carpet in black, fits perfect with minimal trimming to rear of cab.
fitted new hei 65,000 volt coil/distributor cap/rotor and control module. street thunder ignition leads. (as others were shot) I've always wanted to lift the truck suspension rather than body lift, but limited to height with it only been 2wd. it will have 2 inch rear blocks steel not cast as I have had in the past cast blocks crack. the front with 1 inch thick coil spring spacer, should lift it 2-1/2 to 3 inch.
made rear behind seat trim panel needs another coat of paint, and will put chevy emblem on it.
-
finished behind seat trim panel
-
got carpet in, and behind seat panel fitted. new seat belts all round, just making some rear corner speaker pods 6x9 to match panel.
-
seat cover turned up today, looks good quality comes with hog rings and pliers.
base of seat foam repaired then covered in wadding. new end springs fitted, heated seat elements in place cover next .
-
seat cover base fitted, hog rings needed only on the ends of cover. front and rear has plastic fixings, makes fitting easier.
back of seat heated elements fitted, then cover fitted hog rings along bottom. turned out better than I expected. base mounts to fit then can go in truck.
-
rear corner speakers 6x9 came today, fitted to the pods. and bench seat in, a lot comfier than before. just needs insurance then M.O.T.
then back on the road.

Looks good, your pictures are small though. Hard to see the detail
