Title: Bent frame?
Post by: Jb77c10 on July 23, 2017, 12:13:36 am
So my 77 c10's driver side wheel is set a good 3 inches further in than the passenger side, I know it's been in a wreck by the p.o. thing is i can't find a bend in the frame, is there a correct way to measure at home, or could it be due to suspension components, the body looks straight overall, just dog tracks, any advice would be appreciated (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170723/6ad9b1f918058744836e8c5216d353c2.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170723/9bbec9cc11256901c5aace89a3d6a11f.jpg)

Could just be the body mounts

I'd take it to a auto body or frame shop that has some grey haired guys working there

Have you tried loosening all of the body mounts and shifting the cab? Are the body mounts good? You can check the frame squareness using a tram gauge. You can make your own tram gauge as well if you suspect the frame is the issue.

Right, that's my plan it just bugs the crap out of me, short on cash at the moment to have it looked at, I will inspect the body mounts

keep in mind 3" difference is only 1.5" off (split between the two sides). but look at your bumper also, the gap on the sides between the bumper and fender.
