Title: 1977 k15 front wheel bearing size difference
Post by: chevy mike on August 08, 2017, 07:44:01 am
I'm trying to order front wheel bearings for my '77 Huigh Sierra but, apparently, they changed the size in the middle of that same year so I'm trying to figure out which month it was built but no online decoder will take my VIN

- Will a small change in wheel bearing size matter? I bet it would but maybe not.

- Can anyone point me to a working decoder or tell me the month off my Vin (KL147Z532240)?

Thanks for your help.

Best thing to do is not order them and goto parts store with bearing and match it up. So you don't get wrong one. Just my opinion and what I would do.

There is no indicator in the VIN stating when a truck is built.

In that case...buy both and return what you don't need.

Here's some info regarding bill of material numbers and years, but I can't verify accuracy.
