I've bought a cheap 6V71 off a train and currently have so many projects that I wouldn't mind spending some $$ to skip hours of googling and learning how to convert it.
Dean's name/shop comes up a lot when googling blower stuff so could assume it's good info on the CD, but when I go to his website it looks like it's made by some student in the early 90's and full of grammar errors and some pages just 404.. Is the CD like that too? I don't think the $30 is bad price at all for professional information, but if it's laid out as bad as the website is... :-\

I haven't seen the CD specifically so I cannot speak to its quality. I know of a guy locally who bought his CD and the rotor pins as well as the bearings to rebuild an old Jimmy blower. The local guy ended up paying to have his 6-71 blower rebuilt. Don't remember who he had do it but it wasn't Rick Dean. The guy threw in a polish job and aftermarket bearing plates for cheap.
Rick is an interesting sort of character. I talked to him before I bought the 6-71 Jimmy blower I have to put on my monster truck. If he's not busy you can get some good info from him on the phone. His website is kind of clunky and he is not a PR expert but I haven't found anything on the net that would cause me to question his workmanship........and we all know the internet is where every one goes to cry in their beer.
Hope that helps.
