Title: why did someone cut a hole in my cab?
Post by: gwyon on October 13, 2017, 08:48:24 am
It's my first post.  A few weeks ago, I bought a 1985 GMC Sierra Classic 4WD.  The carpet was shot, so I removed the seat to install new molded vinyl flooring, and I found this.  Someone sawzalled a hole in the cab floor, behind the seat, and then JBwelded a piece of sheet metal over the hole.  The truck is from the south, and the frame is in great shape.  The rest of the cab floor looks solid, too.  What am I looking at, in these pics?  Thanks.

You are looking at the rear cab mount.  I can only guess that the cab mounts were changed or the whole cab and that "nut" spun and they had to cut into it to keep it secure
