Title: weather stripping
Post by: Smitty31 on October 15, 2017, 01:31:30 pm
I have a 1986 custom deluxe and have replaced all the weather stripping around the doors and the felt around the door glass. I have adjusted the doors and the door hinges are in good shape. But still when driving down the road you can hear air like its trying to come in but really cant feel it. Anyone else have this problem? Also i noticed my 1979 has a piece of weather stripping on  top of the door above glass but my 1986 does not.

Check your wing windows.  Fold a business card a couple of times and close the latch on it.

Put electrical tape around the vent window. If the noise goes away then you found your leak.

Well then you know your leak is not from the vent windows. Use a mechanics stethoscope to pinpoint the leak
