They are essentially identical to the military ones used in the 80's but they came on the earlier model trucks... Does anyone have one and/or has anyone seen one before? Information on these brush guards is incredibly limited. I've been contemplating modifying an 80's military one but would of course prefer the original one. Thanks!

This is all I have been able to find as far as brochures.

It's an add on and they pop up once in a while but as far as used there aren't a ton of survivors. Look for Hickey Brush Gaurd

If I recall correctly, Chevy started the CUCV program and actually shipped several older model Chevy's to foreign countries, before winning the finalized 1984 final bid of the CUCV seen now. That brush guard was used on those "prototype" CUCV's,
I have seen one or two Canadian models pop up, K30, 350, NP205, base model, I think both were actually '76.
It may be worth it to look into that.
But from those pics, what exactly is different from the later CUCV guard?

In 73-80, these brush guards were a dealer-installed factory option. The only thing that changed on them for the CUCV trucks in the 80's are the brackets to bolt on to the bumper, otherwise they are identical.
