Title: turbo 350 to 700r4
Post by: shaved80 on February 10, 2006, 01:21:00 pm
i'm doing this swap, i already have the 700r4, tv cable, adapter, and my driveshaft is getting shortened. the frame also already has the holes to move the crossmember back. what i need to know, is it has an electric kickdown and it needs constant power...can i get this plug from the dealership? and will the speedo gear from the 350 work, or will i need a new one?

shaved,  you going to need the speedo gears for the 700r4, th350 are different, may have to lengthen speedo cable too.  if your 350 is a lockup converter, then you already have the plug there,  if not you will need to get a lock up kit so you dont burn up the trans.  I'm also assuming you have a short shaft th350? if it is a long shaft no need to cut driveshaft.  dont forget to plug off the old modulatior vacuum line too.
check this sight out,  these people are very helpful and they have the gear charts ,

the shop that rebuilt the trans installed a lockup, but it has a 4 pin connecter, will it work?
