Title: Chevy recall for 4.3 ignition problems
Post by: toplessblazer on May 26, 2005, 01:48:00 am
My mother drives a 2001 chevy pickup with the 4.3 v6 auto and she has had problems with it just dying while driving. Each time they had to replace the distributor cap, rotor, and wires. The truck has about 65000 miles on it and this has happened three times so far.
She got a recall letter about a week ago stating there is a known problem with the ignition system on the 4.3 v6's and to schedule an appt. asap to get it fixed for free. Also the letter said if you paid a shop to do these repairs it is possible that gm will refund your money but there are several things you needed to have.
Just wanted to throw this out there incase any of you drive one of these trucks and have had the same problem. Not sure what all years they recalled but a phone call will answer that for you.
