Title: Balljoint issue
Post by: Chisholmcody on January 28, 2018, 08:04:55 pm
So I was finally doing upper balljoint  son my 78 c10, got those in all fine and dandy but my question is with the lowers. I did the lower balljoints about 3 years ago and they have only seen maybe at the most 10k miles.

When I was doing my driver side upper balljoint I noticed the lower had become "unpressed" from its bore and was just hanging there (when the spindle was out of the upper) I tapped it back in lightly with a hammer and socket (doesn't seem like a pressed fit) seems like it won't come out of the control arm unless the nut comes off.  Do you guys think it's okay to run it like this? Or should I buy a new control arm or oversized balljoint ????

I ended up placing dimples with my air hammer kinda by where these red dots are but on the flange area all the way around. Seems to be a lot tighter!!
