Title: Tank sending unit
Post by: laksta_03 on March 28, 2018, 04:42:37 pm
Hello all. I have a 87 V10 fuel injected 305 Chevy that I put a  350 from a 70 Camero in. I built the motor to around 400 HP and coverted it to run a holley 750 carb. My fuel pressure regulator went bad so im considering changing to a mechanical  fuel pump and getting away from the in tank electronic pump. My question is will a sending unit / fuel pick up thats not for a TBI truck go right in my tank or will I need to replace the tank?
Thank you!

I have a dual tank 85 K10. Mechanical fuel pump. I bought a tank at a swap meet for my aux tank because the factory one had rusted out. It was out of a TBI I was told.  Everything went back on fine, except it looks like the new tank has baffles. It’s the 88’  and onward that had the different layouts. Best of luck.

I have been told by a few people now that you can just run a mechanical fuel pump and draw fuel right thru the in tank pump. Has anyone done this?
