Title: Can i use a 3 speed automatic column for a 700r4

1987 r10 355/700r4/4.11 it has a non tilt column I found a tilt column it came out of a truck with 350 turbo will that column allow it to shift down another gear

Yes the columns are the same

Just wondering do you still have all the detents for the each gear if using a 3 speed column. Being you have one extra gear now. Be nice to know so it will make my search for a tilt column easier. Thanks

detents are in the transmission.  There is enough travel in the column to work with any TH350 to 700R4 swap
