Title: Sliding rear window
Post by: RBolig on April 05, 2018, 01:46:50 pm
Guys, I need some help. I am removing the solid rear window in my '79 Cheyenne and replacing with a slider (I believe it is aftermarket). I bought a new gasket, and the window assembly does not fit the Precision seal. Is there a special gasket for these windows that are not GM original?

The image shows the seal being too large.

They fit a little squirrely until they are installed. There are two different gaskets available, one with a zipper and one without.

I got the one with "the zipper", but the gasket looks too large. I am thinking it should fit snug to the window frame at least. Am I wrong?

That style gasket goes on the cab first, then you put the window in, then zip it up tight

Zieg, Sounds like a plan. I'll give that a try.

Zieg85, you were correct, window is now installed. Thanks.

Now, about those pesky chrome corner pieces..... Had to walk away for a while.
