Title: General vacuum info
Post by: Ol Blue on April 22, 2018, 09:10:31 am
1987 V10 350, has cruise and A/C. Basically bone stock under the hood, not hacked on.

I have the AC controls and cruise control unhooked/plugged and as I put it back together I want to keep checking the vacuum system as I go. (probably not going to hook the cruise back up)
After reading and reading on the forum, I still have a few specific questions:

1. Should my vacuum reservoir (plastic ball) hold a vacuum if I put a vacuum pump on it? How many ports does the reservoir have?

2. If I put a vacuum gauge on the manifold side of the EGR solenoid while it is running, should it hold that vacuum after the truck is shut off?

Thank you and I would appreciate any additional info you think I should know.
