Title: gas tank from passenger to driver side
Post by: Rustyk10 on April 23, 2018, 12:48:23 pm
i have a 1979 K10 with a bed that is rusted out that i just took off to put another bed on it but the new bed has the fill cap on the driver side instead of passenger side so i was wondering if buying the hoses and parts for the drivers side tank would line up and fit or will i have to route my own lines? Im not sure if anything is in the way of where the gas lines would go for the drivers side tank for an 85 VS a 79?

Tanks are the same, sending units are not.  You can certainly run the lines over to the passenger side as that is how it is done normally.  What I am not certain is the saddle mounts the same between the sides.

The tanks and brackets are the same, but the metal filler hose and rubber hose connection changed over the years.  However, you should be able to just transfer your '79 hoses and filler over the new tank and I think it will work, if both beds are the newer style that have fuel doors.
