Title: Interesting shipping route
Post by: Ronno6 on May 27, 2018, 04:11:58 pm
I bought a Chilton's Repair Manual for my 84 C10 on ebay.
The seller lives in Augusta, Georgia, and I in south Mississippi.
'Cordin' to ebay, it shipped on May 18, anticipated delivery May 21.
Made sense. But.......
Today is the 27th, and not here yet.

It went to Jacksonville on 5/20, .................then to Memphis on  5/25,...............then in Atlanta on 5/26...............

Maybe the address is not legible.............

i'm not putting down Chilton's, but please don't buy/use/depend on Chilton's.

Instead, i feel a factory service manual would be much, much better.

Here are some service manuals available here, online:

i think these are much better than Chilton's.

And really, you shouldn't be messing with Chilton's.

i think UPS or whoever does it that way because that 's where the major hubs are?

If it was shipped elsewhere by accident first that is a possibility. I've had packages go up to some random town in Maine, so it had to return to a central hub, which ended up being in New Jersey, so it would hit Nashua NH, then Mass, then New Jersey, just to get sent back up to Mass, then Nashua then finally to me in Keene NH.

And I found Chilton better then haynes, but nothing replaces the factory manuals.

i have the Haynes book for our trucks and the Factory 1988 R-V-G-P Light Duty truck Service manual and it's 2.5 times as thick as the Haynes and it doesn't include the 1988 GM Truck Unit Repair Manual or 1988 GM Truck Wiring Diagram booklet
