Good Morning from Charlotte,NC. I had my ‘87 Silverado restored over the last 17 months. It turned out very nice. The story & photos are on this link:

I want a posi rear end to complete the build. Is a 373 the way to go ? I want to be able to cruise and enjoy. Of course I want to spin the tires on occasions too. Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thank you,
Eric

The Eaton/ Detroit Truetrac is a good choice. There are no clutches to wear out. Keep track of the RPMs you're running now then find a gear calculator. Try different ratios until you find the one that moves the RPMs where you want them. I'd lean to a lower gear with a little higher RPM if 2 ratios keep you in your desired range.
