Title: Lower Control arms.
Post by: racer490 on July 07, 2018, 04:17:47 pm
Is there a source for Lower control arms for a 82 GMC 1500.  When I google search it lots of hits come up but they are usually upper control arms or Lower control arms for a C-20.  The only other option are tubular ones.

Hi Racer490:
I think the GMC C-15 and Chevy C-10 lower control arms are the same. I am surprised that in my collection of paper catalogs that only one catalog lists the lower C-10 control arms.

Other alternatives are get one from a salvage yard or to find the OEM part number and see if there is an NOS available. You could google the OEM part number. You should be able to  find  the part number on an on-line GM parts catalog or there may be one on the tech section of this website. One of my sources for NOS is Phillips Muscle Car Parts...they are on the web.

Good Luck,
Henry

I wound up buying the bushings and ball joints to rebuild mine.  Was looking to save some time and get a part that hasn't been on a vehicle for 35 years though some replacement parts are suspect.  I find it odd that upper arms are readily available but Lower arms which I believe have a higher probability of damage are unavailable.
