I have a 74 c10 and I changed the shift shaft seal , I had to pull out the shifter to get it out because I stripped the seal with the tool that I bought to pull it out with, well I got it all back together and now it won’t go into gear so I dropped the pan again and made sure everything was back the way it’s supposed to be and it was , well before I put the pan back on I wanna make sure that I there isn’t another cause that could be addressed before I install the pan back on , can someone please advise me to check other possible problems, and also my accumulator cover is leaking I’m going to change the o-ring before I put the pan back on , I’m not very good at mechanics but you tube videos sure help

Make sure that the manual valve moves freely and that the S-link connects the valve to the gear selector linkage. Verify that the external shift linkage is correctly indexed and timed between the shift lever on the column and the gear detents inside the transmission. Make sure the transmission is appropriately filled with fluid.
