Title: Leaky kick panel
Post by: claude on August 12, 2018, 08:24:56 am
My passenger side kick panel leaks water on floor every time it rains or when I wash pickup. I removed kick panel to paint it and their is a thin one piece white tape type seal on the inside. It looks like it is the original. I can’t find replacement seal. What is everyone else using to seal the outside moisture from seeping in past the kick panels? In doing a search under kick panels, l find the forum only talks about speakers.

There's this: http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php?topic=22630.0

and then to answer your question, you may find butyl tape (dum dum) to be the most effective product to use.

Thanks VileZambonie. I’ll remove kick panel tomorrow & reach up there to check and see if deflector is in place. Do you think the extensions to the original deflectors are still available? Also, butyl tape does sound like a good idea in helping seal kick panel.
