Title: 1980s Dash Cover Bezels.... fit differently per year?

So I have a 1985 C10. 

The dash cover bezel doesn't fit flush on previous stock cluster.  Also fits like crap with freshly installed Dakota LS swap cluster.

Fits perfectly flush against bottom left round gauges.  Big gap at top.  If I adjust so there is less gap on top, bezel pulls away from bottom gauges, leaving obvious ugly gap. 

I don't know if the current bezel is original or not.  Is there a different between years, or am I missing something.

Then you probably do not have an 85 bezel. Yes there are several design changes. Post pics
