RPO HE4

All original paperwork from only other owner on my 1978 scottsdale 2wd big10 states it has this option, -Axle-RR-340.. I was wondering if it's 3.40? I was planning 3.73's in the future, but would it really be a big change? I don't have a lot of info on the 3.40, so any would be appreciated :)

Just 1/4 less turn on the ratio.  It would be a couple hundred RPM difference.  I wouldn't go with 3.73's unless I had tall tires or an overdrive.  3.40 would be about the max w/ 28" tall tires and no overdrive in my opinion.
