Title: 350 Timing (keeps going out of whack!)
Post by: ChevySepticGuy on June 18, 2006, 10:58:00 am
Hey guys,

It seems like my timing keeps going out of whack. Just when i think that the bolt is tight I'll hit a pot hole or go down a bumpy road and the timing goes in her.

It still has a great sounding idle, but when she is moving down the road it almost makes a "chug, chug, chug" sound when i hit the gas pedal. similar to a "hole in the exhaust" type of sound.

So i'm assuming her timing is now set too low. :\

Is there any way to fix the timing so that it won't go out? like putting a lock washer or something on that clamp down bolt?

I'm sure this is a common question! So i'm sorry if it's been asked a hundred times. :p

Thanks guys.

Is it tightened down?  There should already be a lockwasher there, but..

Found out that my "chugging" is due to a spark plug wire that was touching manifold and grounding out. :rolleyes
