I might buy me a bare 454 block from my uncle. I have the choice of 2. one is a 75-87 block and the other is a 68-74 block. I belive that was the years cant remember the casting numbers Ill have to look at them again in the next few days. Which one would be better for maybe a future turbo setup? Is there any difference? They are both 4 bolt mains.

There is no difference in blocks if they are both 454's.

Just study the blocks to see if one has been bored before, or notice the condition of the bores--ripples etc...

Can you get them magnafluxed to see if any cracks??
