Title: More fuel line problems.....help
Post by: 85silverado on July 05, 2006, 07:15:00 pm
I Recently had a leaking fuel line from the fuel pump to the carb, so i replaced it with a new one and now it leaks on both ends and i'm having a tuff time getting it to stop. I saw teflon tape on the factory line, do these double flared lines need teflon tape?

No teflon tape is needed on a flared fitting. The thread pitch is different than a pipe thread. A leak at a flared fitting is usually a sign that the flare is cracked or the fitting isn't tight enough. But if the fitting is overtightened, it will crack the flare.
