I have a 1978 2we custom deluxe
It had the original 225/75/15 tire size with 6"rims
I picked up some15x8" rally wheels to fill out the wheel wells a bit.
Two of the rally had 235/75/15 on them, so I threw them on
to see how they looked. (I'm going to need to buy new tires)
I like how the width filled out but noticed the 235's were
Shorter than my 225's
Is there a happy medium between the two?

225/75 is narrower and shorter than 235/75
The first series of numbers is the section width in mm 235mm wide
The second number represents the aspect ratio which is the percentage of width. So 75% of 235 is the sidewall height
R=Radial
15= 15 inch wheel
So if you want a taller tire, you need a tire with a higher aspect ratio. If you want the tire to be wider, increase the # to the desired width.

The 225/75/15 is 28.3” tall and 8.9” wide
The 235/75/15 is 28.9” tall and 9.3” wide
The 235 is a taller and wider but only slightly.
